Business Cases

Description of the activities of the SPS/Business Cases working group.

If decentralized energy systems are deployed on a large scale it has impact on the flow of revenues between the organizations acting in the electricity and natural gas market.

Distributed generation can bring several advantages to the electricity network, such as enhanced system reliability, emission reductions by increasing energy efficiency and displacement of coal generated electricity. Also infrastructure investments can be postponed or even avoided.

The business case working group will give more insight in the advantages if decentralized energy systems are deployed at large. The working group has defined the following actors:

After putting the above mentioned actors in a model, the change of revenues and costs are deducted. After defining the model, we will give more insight in the impact of the large deployment of decentralized energy systems. This is done for all mentioned actors.

The Business Cases working group will have a linking pin to the other working groups and pilots. This way we can validate the conclusions which has been made by this group.
